i’d like to give a big shout out to their very smart auntie who came up with the game “auntie says”. it’s a lot like “simon says” but i’m pretty sure that auntie wields way more power than simon does. the two boys are visiting from chicago so i’m so glad they got a chance to do photos together with their cousins.

maia (aka turtle)
i got to meet this cutie over the weekend. if i had to hire parents to be my assistants, i might have to vote for maia’s parents. cute outfits? check. funny noises? check. perfect props? check. they even went so far as to bring a little trash can (love it) because she loves to stand next to it and bang on it. (full disclosure: we prettied it up w/ a sweet blanket.) her nickname before she was born was turtle and then they came across that wicker turtle and how could they resist?
no pain no gain
i think mason’s cast said it best. fourteen mini sessions in one day- what was i thinking? i’m teasing- it really was actually a lot of fun. i’d like to give a big thanks to all of the peeps in poulsbo who came out to the park to hang out with me. we ended up getting a beautiful day and i have sooo many photos to go through but here are just a few of the first pics that caught my eye. the tiny dog is named bubbles. how cute is that? and for the record, the arm wrestling match was too close to call.
this is ten
but not for much longer. hard to believe that my niece is ten- almost eleven. she just got braces, which somehow makes her seem so much older- that or the fact that she is growing like a weed. we had fun walking around concrete on a trip last weekend and taking some pics. even though at times she seems impossibly grown up, i still got some glimpses of the silly, goofy, energetic, spirited and funny little kid that i remember so well.
a walk in the park
i got to hang out at the park with sophie and ashley last weekend. they are both so expressive and have so many great expressions- they were cracking me up. ashley has one of those great laughs where she throws her head back and sophie can go from completely deadpan to laughing in nothing flat. ashley kept wanting to know if i had a sister and everytime the answer was no. i figure she just thought everybody should be so lucky.
introducing jack
i got to meet this cutie patootie on sunday. before i got there i had visions of doing sleeping newborn pics but jack decided that wasn’t going to happen and was awake the whole time i was there. he has some serious baby chub potential going on- i kept thinking, “wow, he seems so big for a two week old” and then at the very end we did a picture where he was holding his dad’s finger and then, just like that, he seemed really tiny again.
introducing dawson
i got to meet this little fella last weekend when i went camping at a state park w/ my family and dawson’s family. he is only six weeks old and it was baby’s first camping trip (and baby’s first camp fire and baby’s first bbq for that matter). can you believe it? i was impressed. he seemed to be pretty generous with the smiles- once you got him going he was on a roll. he also seemed to enjoy the cuteness of the projector in a field on saturday night showing old black and white mickey mouse cartoons.
