shared love

so i got to hang out with my buddy sami at top pot this morning where i learned that she shares my love for maple bars. i mean, really, what’s not to love?

lawyers are fun

i got to hang out w/ these lovely people at their post-holiday work party at the columbia tower last weekend. i was happy to find out that people were up for a good time in the photo booth. a big thanks to everyone for being such good sports.

great grandma knows best

i was lucky enough to get to take my friend libby’s place and photograph the michael pollan lecture at benaroya hall on monday night for seattle arts and lectures. he gave a very interesting talk on his latest book “in defense of food”. he proposes that we move away from the “edible foodlike substances” we consume (snackwells, anyone?) and move towards eating real food- the kinds of foods your great grandmother would have eaten. he suggests that the simplest way to cut through all of the confusion of what to eat is to follow this simple seven word mantra: eat food. not too much. mostly plants.

happy and sweet

those are two words that perfectly describe our friend sami who just turned two. she was trying to take it all in when she woke up from her nap and there were magically twenty people at her house. these are from her party over the weekend- check out the super cute cake her dad made for her.

we meet again

i guess trey was feeling extra tough this day. i took these under the guise of having to test my lights- not that he would need any excuses to be silly. i should maybe mention that no puppies were harmed in the making of these photos.

pop rocks

it was her first time and can i just say that her looks were priceless.

christopher

aka monkey, lovey boy, and cutie patootie. my nephew christopher likes to give lots of love- i had to stock up while they were visiting over the holidays because i’m not sure when i’ll see them next. i can’t believe he’s going to be three in march. here are a few from my parents front porch.

white christmas

well, we finally got our white christmas. and how. but it sure was pretty once everybody got where they needed to be. here’s a couple from christmas at my folk’s house. i sort of went overboard on gifts for the kids because my brother’s family was in town but i learned my lesson- my two year old nephew’s favorite present was the free alligator that they threw in my bag at the toy store. more pics of the kids soon.
