the patient mom of the year award might go to isla’s mom. i think isla fell asleep for about a minute and then she fought it for a good long while. the nice thing was that mom was totally calm and we just waited. when she did settle down there were some pretty sweet moments. i mean, how can you go wrong, right? her big brother elijah was bouncing all over (literally)- that is when he wasn’t practicing his breakdance moves and/or headstands. too funny.

liam and emmett

i got to meet up with liam two years later and now he has a little mini me of a brother named emmett. liam has grown out of some of his baby chub but emmett has it in spades- it’s so cute. when emmett finally went down for a nap, liam and i hung out outside for a bit. he kept gathering pine cones and giving them to me and saying, “that’s your valentine”. so sweet. (btw- isn’t that a cool mural in their bedroom?)

i have to say i really enjoy taking newborn pictures. it’s always a game of hurry up and wait but i’m okay waiting for it. take this little guy, for instance. what you can’t see here are all of the behind the scene shots of the snack breaks and the rocking but then if you are patient you get to see moments of calm that are almost cuteness overload. it’s also always gets me to see parents of newborns be all schmoopy with their new little buddy.

i got to meet up with ms evie again at her house. once again, she was in a great mood and full of smiles. she is really busy these days so a lot of the time we were just trying to find things that might hold her attention for a few minutes. i thought it was very 2012 when dad pulled out the ipad for her to look at (that’s baby evie on the screen). luckily we also got to take a few outside at the end when the skies parted. evie was such a trooper- even smiling through her shivers.

i got to meet deliciously cute molly at just two weeks old. she tipped the scales at over eight pounds at birth- i’m thinking some of that was the cheeks. those cheeks!! she reminds me quite a bit about what her big brother jack looked like when i took some newborn pics of him two years ago. he was playing mr dj during the shoot and spinning some sweet hits from his sesame street cd. congrats to maddy and mike- you two make real cute babies!

so that no one thinks that every photoshoot goes off without a hitch, i offer you this peek behind the curtain. poor little beckett was having kind of a rough day. it was basically take a few photos, tears, take a few photos, tears. luckily for him he’s still so stinkin cute. and i’m happy to say that we got plenty of shots without tears too.

i met up with these two and had a little less to compete with this time. there weren’t any airplanes around to check out but there was still plenty of running around to do. i’m still not quite sure how their parents keep up with them. luckily for me, it seems like they both still love having fun and cracking up.

it was so fun to get to see mr lucas again. it was his even his birthday weekend. he has the cutest sign for eat which mostly just involves him tapping both cheeks at the same time. mom says she sees it a lot lately since he’s a growing boy. he’s so tall for his age that sometimes i forget he’s only two.

i’m happy to report that quinny is still grinny. oh sure, he tried to play it coy in the beginning but that only lasted about two minutes and then it was on. he was cracking me up. these two boys are so sweet i wanted to put them in my pocket and take them home with me.

right before meeting up with emma and mia, i had taken photos of one of their besties, zoe. luckily we got to do a few pics of all three girls together. mia is a big ham (if you couldn’t tell from these photos) and when mom gave the girls ice cream cones at the end of the sitting she said, “ooh…ooh…i got this one!” and proceeded to give herself an ice cream mustache. it was good stuff. all i have to say is good luck to their dad when these two cuties are teenagers.
